Kirriemuir Nursery’s dedicated staff and children have raised over £740 for UK charity Children in Need through a string of fundraising events held both inside and outside the nursery, which is located in Hairmyres.
Children and parents at the nursery were encouraged to guess the number of sweets in the jar, bake cakes to sell and hold “Pudsey picnics” in aid of the charity, which aims to provide disadvantaged children with opportunities they may otherwise not have had access to.
East Kilbride Community Trust’s very own K-Park Training Academy was lucky enough to host a charity football match organised by Chloe Bree and other Kirriemuir Nursery staff on 13th November, which was attended by over one hundred people showing their support for Pudsey.
Chloe said: “We chose Children in Need as our charity this year because we wanted to help children who aren’t as fortunate as those at Kirriemuir Nursery, and show the kids how they could make a positive difference to someone else’s life. I can’t believe how much we have raised – we are at £744.03 and still counting!”
