A football extravaganza was held at K-Park this week with ten local primary schools attending for a football festival.
The facility was available for the schools free of charge who played out games against each other which resulted in Kirktonholme Primary School taking on St Kenneth’s in the final.
In a close fought encounter St Kenneth’s took a 2-0 lead and looked to have secured the trophy.
However, Kirktonholme bounced back and scored a goal to come within 1 goal of drawing level.
After a tense final few minutes, St Kenneth’s managed to hold on and win the trophy with the final score 2-1.
EKCT were happy to host the event and hope that it can be a regular occurrence for the teams of our local primary schools.
This is not the first schools football event at K-Park, as local school Duncanrig has used K-Park for several of its under 13/14/15/16 and 18 matches and Principal Teacher of PE Greig Wilson described the facility as a “perfect place for young players to progress their skills” and a “fantastic facility which the public would be silly not to take full advantage of”.
