Glasgow group, Athena’s Army was one of the five bands to play at the charity night.

19 year old, Glasgow Caledonian, journalism student Danielle Lappin co-hosted a charity music night alongside Strathclyde journalism student Antony Lee and The East Kilbride Community Trust.

The event took place last night in the Garage and was in aid of East Kilbride boy Max McGhie who needs lifesaving treatment in Miami to help control severe epilepsy.

The live music night helped to raise more than £500 through ticket and raffle sales, with a special thanks given to the Garage for supporting the event.

The event kicked off with music from The Sonic Reducers, a Glasgow punk rock band and ended in a high with Elvis Presley’s classic hit Hound dog sang by The Revolt.

The Jam’s highlight of the night though was all girl, Glasgow rock group, Athena’s Army who played crowd pleasing covers and their latest tracks, Suffocated and Run For Cover.
