Our May kicked off with a fantastic event for all the local Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, giving them the chance to practice their survival skills including first aid, trail making and following and fire-lighting with some toasting marshmallows thrown in for good measure. We had 24 events with almost 500 attendees visiting us even though much of May wasn’t too fantastic weather wise, just goes to show how much everyone is enjoying just being outdoors.
Our community wanted to see longer sessions as an alternative to our hour long book bug sessions so we decided to merge our book bug and timorous beastie tots sessions and our Fun Forest Friends sessions was created. The sessions were themed with a story and crafts beginning with Stick Man and our Fairy Garden session, these were a big hit.
We had some visitors from the School of Forestry which was a wonderful way for us to meet like minded students with a passion for the outdoors and we are hoping to welcome a student to our team in the near future. K-Woodlands wowed our audience yet again.
